Easy Last Minute Halloween Decoration:

Okay, it's Halloween night, and you've completely forgotten that your house has become the chosen party palace. If this is you, and you're hosting the halloween party and you need some cute, quick, creative, and easy Halloween decor then you've come to the right place... P.S. we promise in advance, no food coloring, craft glue, or crepe paper, is needed for this Halloween fun.

For quick festive Halloween decorations, peep your local craft store, they might even have some sale items worth exploring. If not, Amazon Prime is your best friend. Honestly, you'll be surprised with just how much a few well-placed items can transform your space full of the festive - chic energy you're seeking. We emphasise quality over quantity here, it provides two fail-safes: 1) it helps not break the bank 2) it ensures it doesn't look like someone Hocus-Pocused all over the place. Less is more.

Easy DIY Halloween Decorations: Use What You Have

Do you have an old mason jar, regular jar, or used wine bottle? Soak them in soapy water to cleanly peel off the label, and use them as candle holders, they create a spooky effect without being over the top and add to the ambient lighting.

Adorning the house with pillar candles is a nice and easy way to create a spooky seasonal ambience, just be careful if you're using real candles. For a safer alternative for your party guests, try battery-powered tea lights.

Place bowls of Halloween candy around the house. Candy Corn vases are a really cute idea, that adds a pop of colour to any corner. Don't have a spare vase? Use a mason jar, equally cute. You can also, mix smaller bowls with larger bowls and arrange them throughout the house instead of just one designated area. This adds a decor element and also reduces people hoarding in one corner, which aids in creating flow throughout the house and a more dynamic atmosphere.

Not in the mood to splurge on real flowers? Faux flowers are equally fine, try black roses or mixing them with other darker hues for an elevated, sophisticated look.

If You're Down to Invest in Some Small Purchases:

This is where Amazon Prime, next-day shipping, really comes in handy. I can't tell you how many times this has saved my ass. For example, it's my niece's birthday this weekend (she's a Halloween baby, so automatically you know she's a kick-ass 4-year-old), she lives across the ocean, and yet somehow the gift I have not yet even ordered, will definitely arrive on time. I don't know how they do it...

Accessories:

Jack O lanterns are great, but pumpkin carving takes time. If you're in a pinch, try your local grocery store for mini pumpkins, if they're out, see above. Place them around the house, and if you get various sizes put three in front of your front door as a cute entryway, double sided tape works well here too to make sure they're not wobbly. You get extra points if you leave a bowl of halloween candy outside your door, not necessarily for the trick-or-treaters, but for your party guests to 'treat discreet' as they leave.

Table Cloth:

You only need one, but sure, more can be welcomed. If its just one, it can just be on your dining room table, or main table, or whatever that means to you. It can be orange, black, or have candy corn on it, whatever you choose or already have on hand is great. Consider adding contrasting elements on top of it. For example, if you have a black tablecloth (p.s. if you don't, I would consider it, it chic-ens up any table, and you never see the stains) try putting small orange pumpkins on top, the contrast will really make them pop. P.S. using double sided tape to make sure the table cloth doesn't shift throughout the evening gets you Martha Stewart Points.

Other ideas to adorn your table, can be a creepy garland, or maybe even glow sticks, again, this all depends on the individual vibe you're looking for. A witch hat works too, and double Martha Stewart Points if you can find things you have on hand to help you play with height, for an extra spooky detail.

Hanging Elements:

If all else fails, remember a 'Happy Halloween banner,' or two ghost balloons can be a cost-effective way to deliver the same effect. Plastic spiders or fake spider web material can honestly be annoying to hang and can take a long time. We would recommend hazard tape if you're looking for that zombie element, a banner could work too, or honestly, a disco ball is always a vibe, no matter the occasion. P.S. fake spiders, plastic skulls, confetti, etc, are easy ways to spruce it up. Just beware that you'll need to vacuum your beautiful mess if you take the confetti route.

If you have a mantle, staircase, or random pole in your apartment, consider papering it in toilet paper. We aren't fans of waste either, but you can use this for phase 1 of cleanup later, anyways.

Keepsakes:

My personal pro tip* is to always leave out disposable cameras. They not only work as easy Halloween decorations but also make for a memorable keepsake in case you accidentally overindulge in whatever spooky concoction you're serving that evening.
